Our Pastor
Pastor Peter L. Phillips is a native of Lake Providence, Louisiana. He attended public school in the Little Rock, Arkansas ISD and Lake Providence ISD and is a graduate of G. W. Griffin High School. Pastor Phillips started his undergraduate studies at Paul Quinn College in Waco, Texas. He continued his education at Central Texas College in Killeen, Texas, receiving an AA degree in Computer Programing, Louisiana Christian University - School of Theology, received a BA in Theology with a minor in Christian Counseling. He continued his education at Houston Graduate School of Theology.
Pastor Phillips is a retired US Army combat Veteran (Sergeant First Class) with 22 Years Honorable service. He is Married to Marsha D. Phillips, and they have 6 children, Rochelle (deceased), Tamika, Cameron, Daysha, Simon and Timothy and 3 Grandchildren, Andre, Corey and A'dorn.
He is an Itinerate Elder serving in the Texas Conference of the 10th Episcopal District. He has Pastored St. Stephens AME church, Bartlett, Texas (Austin Capital District), Williams Chapel AME Church, Pattison, Texas, Boyd Chapel AME Church, Houston, Texas, Mt Vernon AME Church, Palestine, Texas (Tyler District), Mt. Pilgram AME Church, Maynard, Texas, Allen Chapel AME Church, Huntsville, Texas, Carroll Chapel AME Church, Willis, Texas, Bethel Ame Church, Huntsville, Texas. Pastor Phillips was assigned to Wesley AME Church Clute on the South Houston District by Bishop Ronnie Elijah Brailsford.
